• Things to know before your acupuncture appointment

  • Private Acupuncture

Please avoid wearing any heavily scented body products, like perfume, cologne, or essential oils. Wear loose clothing that can be rolled up to the knee and elbow. We have robes available to change into if needed or preferred.

If you tend to be cold, we have heated treatment tables and heat lamps we can use to keep you comfortable. If you wish to be covered with a blanket, please bring one with you as current sanitation procedures prevent us from offering them to patients.

Most patients sleep, or just rest, during their treatments. We will have soft music and ocean waves playing in your room to enhance your Zen experience. You are welcome to bring earbuds if you wish to listen to music during your treatment.

You are welcome to keep your phone with you for music or in case of emergencies – just leave it on silent and avoid using it during your treatment as much as possible. This is an opportunity to unplug and really let go!

    Community Acupuncture

While our community acupuncture clinic does not accept insurance, if you’d like us to check your insurance coverage for acupuncture, we can do that if you send us your information securely using this link. If you do have coverage you wish to use, we will need to move your appointment to the private side.

Please avoid wearing any heavily scented body products, like perfume, cologne, or essential oils. You will remain fully clothed during your treatment. Please wear loose clothing that can be rolled up to the knee and elbow.

To avoid excess noise in the room, please avoid wearing high heels or other loud shoes to avoid disturbing sleeping/resting patients. For safety and sanitation, we require that shoes be worn at all times in the community room, until you get to your recliner where you can take them off during your treatment.

We have blankets available if you tend to be cold, or you may feel free to bring a blanket with you. You may have your socks off during the treatment so keep this in mind if you anticipate feeling chilly.

Most patients sleep, or just rest, during their treatments. We will have soft music playing to enhance your Zen experience. You are welcome to bring earbuds if you wish to listen to music during your treatment.

While we do our best to keep voices low, there may be some ambient noise in the room while you are resting. We have earplugs available for your use, or you may bring noise-cancelling headphones if you really want to be in your own personal cone of silence!

Our community room has a beautiful view of nature. During daytime hours, our large windows let in lots of natural light. If you prefer a darker experience, please feel free to bring sunglasses. We have eye masks available upon request. In Fall and Winter, when our evening treatment hours will coincide with the darkness, treatments are delivered by candlelight!

You are welcome to keep your phone with you for music or in case of emergencies – just leave it on silent and avoid using it during your treatment as much as possible. This is an opportunity to unplug and really let go!
